Hi there! I’m emily,
I believe YOU, I believe all humans have the capacity for incredible strength especially when we work together.
I know this from my own personal experience. I am an overcomer. Whatever hardship life has thrown my way, I’ve been able to work through it, make meaning of it, and become a transformed person on the other side.
I’ve faced Years of chronic illness, navigated moving to different countries with out knowing the language or even a single person. I’ve fought an eating disorder and have been recovered for several years now.
These challenges taught me that I am strong and capable of so much more than I even imagine, and I am not unique. We can all use our setbacks and challenges to grow and become the best versions of ourselves.
This is why I started coaching - because I believe everyone is creating a beautiful story in their lives, and I want to support people to be victorious in their own battles. Our minds are a key component of how we make sense of and integrate our experiences into our lives. We get to choose what we learn from our hardships, our setbacks, and our incredible achievements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
As a coach, I have the responsibility to influence and bring the best out of my clients. I don’t take that responsibility lightly, and believe you should make an informed decision about your coach. With that said, here’s a bit about me:
I Graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Portland State University in 2022. This is where I learned the basics of psychology, and after getting my degree worked as a recovery coach for teens with eating disorders. I wanted to see if becoming a therapist was the path I wanted to take. During this time, I observed more politics in the mental health space that I feel should be separate. I also noticed that paperwork and administrative work consumed hours of therapists time, taking away time they could have spent preparing for sessions or in coaching conversations. For me, life coaching offered freedom from these constraints.
In my time as a recovery coach, I learned a lot about how to build relationships with clients, and how to support them in ways that they needed, rather than ways that made them comfortable. My job was to challenge their mindset and help them adopt a more healthy, objective way of thinking.
My mindset and habits have has allowed me to:
Train for and run marathons and ultra marathons
recover mind and body from a 6 year long eating disorder
continue to fight a 5 year long battle with chronic illness
have the courage to travel the world as a solo female
Find something I’m passionate about that inspires me to dream, take risks, challenge myself and work hard
MY COACHING STRENGTHS:
Life transitions
Life design
Life balance
Mindset and personal Growth
